Education & Career

Document Actions

Programs in this Core Program Area enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, apply learning to everyday situations and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.

 Power Hour

Our club is a 21st Century Learning Center, which means Monday-Thursday our members are required to do 30-40 minutes of educational work.

At the beginning of each day (3-4:30pm), members receive a small snack and can get help with homework/reading or if needed, receive tutoring from staff members. Once the children have had their educational work checked, they are able to participate in recreational activities throughout the club. In addition, members have full access to our computer lab that consists of 10 Laptops (internet accessible) to do research, type papers, or play educational games.
Offered during the school year

Club Tech

Middle school aged members can learn how to create their own power point presentations, and are able to express themselves in a positive way.
Offered during the school year

Career Launch

This program encourages Club members ages 13-18 to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions and prepare to join our nation’s ever-changing work force. Club staff work with teens individually or in small groups to build their job-search skills and job readiness.
Offered during the school year
