Parent FAQ

Did You Know…

  • Each summer, an estimated 43 million children in the U.S. miss out on expanded learning opportunities and ¾ of America’s schoolchildren are not participating in summer learning programs?

  • During summer, most youth lose about two months’ worth of math skills and that low-income youth lose more than two months’ worth of reading skills, while their middle-class peers make slight gains?

  • Summer learning programs have been shown to positively affect children’s self-esteem, confidence and motivation and that 2013 Brain Gain participants experience no significant change in their reading or math scores?

This free program run by Northtowns Boys and Girls Clubs will feature:

  • Theme-based, Common Core-alligned instruction in math and ELA.

  • Free breakfast and lunch program.

  • Participation in physical recreation and arts education.
